The Power of Intention, Prayer and Finding Your Own Energetic Language
The way you speak, the words you choose, the tone of your transmission… are all energy.
Your Energetic Language
When we talk about “energetic language,” we’re referring to the personal vocabulary that feels aligned with your own body, beliefs and lived experience. The words you use to connect, set intention and guide others are part of your unique expression.
Take a moment to reflect:
-
What words or phrases feel most alive and aligned in your practice right now?
-
What does it feel like to speak, guide or write from a place of energetic clarity and truth?
- Have you ever used language in your practice that didn’t quite feel like your own? How did that sit in your body? What was it like to speak from that place?
Playing with language can reflect your relationship to the practices you hold. But it’s important to remember that if we’re not mindful of the language we use, it can have the opposite effect. Words can become performative, copied or even appropriated—disconnected from lived experience or true understanding. If you’re going to harness the power of your words, it’s vital to know why and how you’re using them. Alignment comes from authenticity, not aesthetics!
For me, one of the biggest shifts came with a single word: Prayer.
When Prayer Finds a New Meaning
Exploring the power of prayer is something I’ve been doing increasingly over the past few years. Before that, I wouldn’t have used the word at all as it felt too loaded, too misaligned. It simply didn’t sit right within me. What it represented back then wasn’t something I wanted to associate with or bring into my practice.
But now, my energy has shifted and my relationship with this word has completely changed. It now feels aligned with my energetic imprint and is something that resonates deeply and holds power for me.
This change didn’t happen overnight. It came through curiosity, research, a willingness to be with discomfort and a redefinition of what prayer could mean for me.
What Comes Up for You?
I invite you to sit with it, too.
When you read or hear the word prayer—what arises?
-
Does it bring excitement or clarity?
-
Does it stir confusion, judgement, or resistance?
Check in with yourself. Listen.
What’s your body doing? What sensations do you notice?
Let the body speak.
This kind of reflection is less about the word itself and more about the energetic imprint it leaves behind. If something feels off, that’s important to notice. And if something stirs, even faintly, that too might be worth exploring.
What Does Prayer (or Intention) Mean for You?
This brings us into the bigger question: What does prayer (or intention) mean for you personally?
Many people connect with the idea of a higher power—whether through Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, shamanic practice or other ancient traditions.
Personally, I’ve come to prefer broader terms like Source, Spirit, or Universal Energy. But however you name it, the deeper truth is that we’re all relating to something beyond the self—a force, a feeling, a frequency.
And if there’s one thing most traditions and even science, seem to agree on, it’s this:
Everything is energy.
How Energy Shows Up in Daily Life
This isn’t just a spiritual concept—it shows up in everyday life.
-
Food holds energy. A vegetable grown in living soil carries a different frequency than a processed takeaway meal and it affects the body differently.
-
Words hold energy. As Tolkien wrote:
“Small wonder that spell means both a story told and a formula of power over living men.” -
Thoughts hold energy. Have you seen the rice and intention experiment?
If not, here’s a link to watch it:

When we realise that everything carries a frequency, it becomes even more important that the words we choose to guide ourselves and others are energetically aligned.
To offer a wider lens on how this language has long held meaning, I want to share an excerpt originally written by Shawinigan Ungaia, gently adapted here to offer reflection and depth.
Ancient Wisdom: Prayer as Energy and Direction
Ancient wisdom teaches that when we connect with something greater—Spirit, Source, God or simply expanded consciousness—we access a broader perspective. One that sees beyond our immediate experience. One rooted in care, love and the rhythms of nature.
In ancient Hebrew, the word intention shares a root with the word meaning “to aim.”
Without a sense of direction or aim, we can feel scattered, like a small boat in a storm. Our lives become driven by outside influences, rather than inner alignment.
And yet, aim doesn’t have to be fixed. It can change, refine, deepen.
The clearer it is, the stronger the connection we feel.
In nature-based traditions like shamanism, it’s said that the soul always knows where to aim from—and where to aim to.
The Aims We’re Given vs The Aims That Are True
In the modern world, we’re often handed aims that aren’t truly ours:
-
A career path
-
A house or mortgage
-
Marriage or family milestones
-
Social status or recognition
If we don’t pause to ask what we really want—what truly lights us up—we may end up chasing goals that leave us feeling numb, anxious or unfulfilled.
So the real question becomes: where am I aiming from?
And: is this aim truly mine?
Re-Aiming: Returning to Your True Path
In ancient Hebrew, the word sin means “missing the mark”—or more gently, “re-aiming.”
This invites us into honest reflection:
-
What did I think I was aiming for?
-
What thoughts, intentions or prayers guided me there?
-
Why did this unfold the way it did?
-
And… what’s ready to be refined or returned to?
This process of returning to your truer aim is called Teshuvah.
Though often translated as repentance, it literally means: to return.
Final Thoughts: It’s Not About the Word, It’s About the Energy!
Whether your word is prayer, intention, aim or something else entirely, the deeper invitation is this:
Let your language reflect your truth.
Choose words that feel alive, grounded and resonant.
Let them evolve as you evolve.
When your words align with your energy, your practice carries a deeper resonance.
It’s not just what you say, it’s the energy behind it, the life moving through you as you express it.
