Do you have trouble switching off at night?

Does it take you a long time to get to sleep? Do you generally think about the things you have to plan or problem solve before you go to sleep and then find yourself more awake, or perhaps you wake up in the night and then find it challenging to switch off again?

We all know how important sleep is to us, this 20 minute guided meditation aims to prepare you for a deep and restful sleep. Here we use the body scan technique to slowly but surely encourage you to relax and let go of any tension in your body. This process helps to calm the mind allowing you to drift off into a peaceful slumber.

What will you need?

Headphones or a speaker.

Make sure you’re as comfortable as possible, use this recording before you are planning to take a nap or going to sleep at night.

Make sure you are in a place where it is safe to fall asleep and consider putting a cushion under your knees, or using an eye pillow over your eyes, do everything that you can to cultivate comfort before starting.

    I have struggled with falling asleep for years and have tried many guided sleep meditations. This is by far the best, so much so I’m still yet to make it to the end. The narrator’s voice is clear and calming, providing an almost hypnotic effect. The added background music is soothing and perfectly suited to the meditation. I can’t recommend this enough if you are looking for a deep and restful sleep, or even if you just want to relax.

    The sleepy time meditation is the perfect antidote to a stress filled day. At bedtime, the calming voice gently guides me to focus on my body and my breathing: before I know it, my internal chatter has become quiet and I feel peaceful. In fact, I become so relaxed, it is a challenge to remain awake until the end 🙂

    It may be some crazy coincidence, but I can honestly tell you that I am the worst kind of insomniac! It’s been with me since I was a small child. I spend my life it seems eternally trying to sort it. As my life is very difficult without sleep! (Like a full-time zombie) But the night I first listened to Hannah, with her kind caring and soothing voice delivering her sleep meditation! I slept medication free for the first time in a very long time ! So I wanted to commend this to you, as it seems to contain some strange sleepy magic! Thank you Hannah

    Feeling anxious and exhausted I lay down to listen to the Sleepy Time Grounded Life Meditation. I allowed the silky smooth voice guiding me through my legs and that’s all I remember. Then nothing till the very end when I came back to consciousness a little bemused at first. After a few breaths, I realised I felt relaxed and refreshed. My mind clear and my body energised.
    Thank you for this gift.
    I will use it regularly.
