But why now?
Breathwork in all its varieties is an ancient practice dating back over 6000 years ago. Perhaps the better question is, why has it taken us so long to really start listening to our biggest resource and most reliable guide… our breath!?
At Grounded Life we are big believers in timing, when the timing is right, then something that may not have been able to unfold before now seems to want to grow and blossom, it becomes unstuck and flows, have you ever felt that with a relationship or job?
Perhaps it’s no coincidence that breathwork is now grabbing the attention of western society and reaching a much bigger audience, maybe now is the time we are ready to receive it.
Whatever the reason, we are incredibly grateful and excited to be a part of this growing movement that is appealing to people from all walks of life. May we continue to support this work and the reconnection it brings.
What Is Breathwork?
Conscious Connected Breathwork is based on a simple breathing exercise which consists of connecting the inhale and the exhale with no pauses between the two.
Breathwork is a powerful approach to self-exploration with your own inner healing intelligence guiding the process, the quality and content of the experience is unique to each person’s intentions, needs and their particular life situation. While recurring themes are common, no two sessions are ever alike!
Why Is It Good For You – Can Anyone Do It?
Wherever you are in your life journey – a form of breathwork is going to be good for you. Our bodies need oxygen to live but in today’s stressful and over-polluted environments we are simply not getting the intake that we need to function at our greatest capacities.
Breathwork benefits people who experience stress, (that’s all of us by the way in some form or another), whether it be anxiety, depression, tension build up, addictions, physical pain or emotional challenges. Breathwork is also great for boosting creativity, developing presence of mind, restoring inner connection and peace, gaining a new perspective, revealing self-limiting thought patterns. It promotes co-operative relationships and most certainly acts as a fast track to a successful meditation practice.
Whatever area in your life you are looking to connect with, be it be professional, health, therapeutic, business, relationships, spirituality, self-esteem, self-forgiveness/ acceptance, conflict resolution, decision making, strengthening intuition, bonding with others… working with your breath in this way has something for you.
Hannah G is a yoga teacher, dancer and conscious breathwork practitioner. She fuses yoga, intuitive movement, breathwork and mindfulness creating the space to feel and fully nourish your being. She believes that we are each our own greatest healer and guide, but somewhere along the line we just forgot! Connecting to breath is the path to remembering.
